Pen Your Resume with a Target in Mind
  - by Steven Chong

video

In bad economic times like this, many would claim that it's an employers' market now. It is very normal for employers with hiring needs to receive hundreds of job applications for each position that they are recruiting for. This means that the employment market has become more competitive. We conducted the first run of "Pen Your Resume with a Target in Mind" Seminar in February. Due to overwhelming response, we decided to conduct a second run of the seminar in August. More than 83 participants attended the seminar conducted by Wong Kok Wah, facilitator for the resume writing seminar on the 1 August 2009. He shared tips and advice with the participants on how to structure their resume in order to attract the employers with the appropriate set of information, i.e. preparing a cover letter that addresses the key strengths and competencies important and relevant to the job position, required by the recruiting employer.

- Steven has been enlightening in his delivery and I have picked up a lot of tips from
  him during the seminar

- Functional and practical. A worthy workshop to attend. Like the humour injected to
lighten up the atmosphere and to cite effective examples.

- Very interesting. Especially the topic on career aspirations. Teaches what we do not
know what the hiring manager thinks in reading a resumes
