Most candidates are already technically pre-qualified by the time they are invited for an interview. The interview process then is generally to determine "best-fit" between a candidate and the organization. "Best-fit" is a hard to define blend of culture, personality, emotion and "chemistry".
"How To Read a Person like a Book", held on 20 June 2009, aims to equip the participants with simple yet effective techniques to quickly and accurately assess their interviewers and how to match and adapt themselves to enhance rapport with their interviewers. In this way, it will maximize one's chance of "best-fit" at the job interview.
Close to 50 participants who attended the seminar learnt simple techniques of understanding another person like reading their eye movement, behavior, speed and rhythm of speech, etc.
Group discussion, live video recording and on-the-spot analysis of their peers from the recorded video made the whole session engaging and interactive for all the participants. They learn how to read and match another person, and also how to apply their knowledge on the various types of interviewers that they might meet.
In fact, the ability to read and size up a person facilitates effective communication in various kinds of context, and not just at interviews.
