My Dad is a chef and I think that he has the coolest job in town.
I am proud of my dad’s occupation as it can be tedious work to whip up delicious gourmet dishes for people from all walks of life.
Additionally, a chef also works long hours in the kitchen and sometimes even sacrifices spending precious time with their loved ones.
Being a chef, my dad has to work for more than 10 hours in the kitchen and he does not have the privilege of having a day off on public holidays. Sometimes, I feel sad for him as Dad is often absent on our family outings and holidays due to his inflexible and long working hours. Even then, I have never once heard my dad complain.
I remembered as a child, I once asked him why he wanted to be a chef despite having to work long hours and not be able to spend quality time with our family.
My dad answered that it is his passion and that it always puts a smile on his face whenever a customer was satisfied with the food that he cooked, and that it drives him to keep on working hard to achieve and develop himself as a chef.
I love my dad, and he is my inspirational role model who has instilled the love for cooking in me and has also taught me to be committed in whatever I do.
