10. |
Never lie. Period. |
| |
|
|
| |
9. |
Really listen to people, paraphrasing what you think you hear, in
order to check your understanding. |
| |
|
|
| |
8. |
Accept personal responsibility for all of your feelings, especially
negative ones. No one "makes me feel" anything. |
| |
|
|
| |
7. |
Don't talk about people behind their backs. What 'goes around'
actually does eventually 'come around'. |
| |
|
|
| |
6. |
Don't spread rumours, if you can possibly avoid it. If you must
check it out, try to get to the source first. |
| |
|
|
| |
5. |
Refrain from, and/or respectfully confront, any and all disrespectful
and inappropriate jokes, gossip, plots and conspiracies, formal or
informal. There is almost always someone nearby who will appreciate
it. |
| |
|
|
| |
4. |
Catch people being nice, and/or doing good work, and call them on
it. |
| |
|
|
| |
3. |
If wronged, avoid the temptation to seek revenge, especially through
hurtful anger. It really does hurt you more than it hurts others. |
| |
|
|
| |
2. |
Don't hold grudges. They don't look good on you. |
| |
|
| |
And, the Number One way to become someone you would
respect and admire at work... |
| |
|
|
| |
1. |
Accept responsibility for your words and actions, especially your
mistakes. ("Personal power means never fearing to say you're
sorry.") |
