The 1- Rochester Group is one of Singapore’s most well known life dining group and a pioneer of alfresco dining and gastro bars. Audrey, what is your job like?


I have been working as the Marketing Manager for one and a half years. I handle all the Marketing and Public Relations activities, oversee all the events, arrange for sponsorships and facilitate partnerships for all three of our business units; 1 Rochester, 1 Twenty Six & 1 Caramel.


What do you enjoy about your job?


In my job, it is great that I can apply my Marketing skills combined with my passion for the Food & Beverage industry.

Furthermore, working at the 1-Rochester Group is not like a typical office job as it is a really creative and dynamic environment here. We are always sharing ideas and brainstorming among different departments to come up with new, exciting projects and events for our customers.

One really great series of events that we have been holding recently is the “Black Book Girlie Nights” – our lady guests are invited to One Rochester for a fun and informative night to learn about everything from making cocktails, to picking up fashion and beauty tips and even the art of making good chocolate ganache!


What are your goals for the future?

Together with the team, I am working towards developing 1-Rochester Group’s online presence with more interactive e-marketing strategies. And we are also working on a very exciting project.... our 4th outlet...

Ivan, what’s your job like?

I ensure that we maintain high service levels at our restaurants and I personally host our regular clientele when they visit. Among other things, I also conduct training sessions for our service staff and coach them on how they can take their service to our clients onto a whole new level. At the 1-Rochester Group restaurants, it is all about giving the personal touch and making our guests feel comfortable by being warm and gracious to them. Through this, many of our guests see us as friends as opposed to just a person working at a restaurant.


What do you enjoy about your job?

I really enjoy working in the F & B line as it enables me to meet new people everyday from all walks of life. I started out my career in this industry back in 1998. My first job was as a Bar Back – who is someone who assists the bartender at the bar and ensures that there are always clean glasses.

As you can see, I really worked my way up from there and have taken up various positions along the way before I got to where I am now. I have been with the 1-Rochester Group for almost two years. I have formed close bonds with a number of our regular clients and we even hang out together beyond our restaurant premises.

 

What are your goals for the future?

I aspire to help turn our restaurants into world-class establishments and to continue building close relations with our guests.
