Pen Your Resume with a Target in Mind

In bad economic times like this, many would claim that it’s an employers’ market now. It is very normal for employers with hiring needs to receive hundreds of job applications for each position that they are recruiting for. This means that the employment market has become more competitive.

Regardless if you are moving to another job, company, industry or even switching careers, employers will require more than just a targeted resume and cover letter that addresses the requirements of the job, company and industry that one is applying to.

It is important for the jobseeker to stand out from the rest in order to clinch the interview opportunity. Therefore, Steven Chong, facilitator for the resume writing seminar on the 28 February, shared tips and advice with more than 70 participants on how to structure their resume in order to attract the employers with the appropriate set of information, i.e. accentuating one’s strengths in each part of the resume so that it will be relevant to the job applied for.
