This seminar will help both working adults and new graduates to discover themselves and have a better understanding of how to move to a better job where they can excel in. This will help new graduates deal with career transitions upon graduation and beyond.Participants will be introduced to a simple self-assessment personal discovery methodology in understanding one’s career, and mapping of one’s career plan.
 
 
 
In a knowledge-based society, being connected is important. Participants will learn the basics of networking - how to get started, how to maintain a network, understand the value of networking and how to execute the connectivity.
 
 
 
Participants will learn the fundamentals of resume writing and cover letters, starting with jobs the participants are targeting and how one can target their resume and cover letter specifically for the job, company and industry.
 
 
 
This workshop helps the participants with the planning and strategizing of an interview before one enters the interview room. What are the key points to remember for one to prepare, attend and follow up when one gets invited to an interview. Some frequently asked questions at job interviews will be discussed, why are they asked, what the interviewer expects and how best to deal with the questions.

Wong Kok Wah

Kok Wah worked with SembCorp for more than ten years in Engineering and Human Resource Development. He specializes in career counselling & development, resume-writing and effective job interview skills.

Kok Wah has conducted training courses for companies like Sun Microsystems, CPF Board and HDB on topics such as People Management Skills, Performance Management, Customer Service, Changing Mindset and Team Development. His training courses have assisted managers and executives from the various companies to manage change and adapt to the ever-changing business environment through acquiring the necessary skillsets and mindsets necessary to spur innovation, productivity and effectiveness.

His practical hands-on approach coupled with his spontaneous and light-hearted manner endears him to his participants. Kok Wah also works closely with educational institutions such as National Junior College and NUS High School, conducting workshops for students in the areas of Leadership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Public Speaking & Presentation.
